Default NPC Monks following out of their control points?

Anyone notice that monks seem to heal and move out of their control points and basically follow groups and heal them? Is there something i missed or are people constantly getting hurt making monks come with them more often?

I've noticed this to. It happens a lot more receatly.

I'll run up to a shrine (solo mostly but we wont go there) thinking "wayhay unguarded shrine with no npc". Mid cap ill notice a solitary red dot come into the radar. Tab key reveals this plucky lone ranger is in fact the shrines npc monk.

So why are the monks neglecting these duties of late? Or do they just think the luxons could usesome extra healing

The npc monks are trying to heal cappers who have roughly around less than 80% health left. It's in my experience, pretty random when they decide to put prot spirit on you or try to heal you with healing whisper. But since Healing Whisper is only half range, they will usually chase you pretty far to just to heal you. If you don't believe me, play an mm and go 15 seconds without using blood of the master, and run from the monk shrine...you'll notice the monk trying to heal the minions and if it still sees a minion low, it will heal it...then go to the next and so on. He can go pretty far and even a compass distance off the cap point.
It's just dumb AI healing other players....even pets and minions. Guess they kinda get carried away huh?

on the 1 hand its an extra monk for whoever side abuses(intentionally or not) this dumb AI
on the other hand the monks in the res shrines are tough to kill by themselves, heaven's delight and burst of healing are annoying to fight against... takes a while to cap those shrines solo...
